Marysville Getchell had only three scoring opportunities but converted two and defeated the Oak Harbor High School soccer team 2-0 Saturday, Sept. 24, at Wildcat Memorial Stadium.
Two of the three Charger (1-2-2) scoring chances, according to Wildcat coach Jeff Laiblin, were breakaways and Getchell cashed in.
Laiblin said, "From start to finish we played much better...(It was) very frustrating because we were the better team. We just couldn't get it to go in and their striker converted the breakaways. Our offense just couldn't convert the many opportunities we had."
Oak Harbor (0-5-1) shoots to break into the win column when it hosts Shorewood (2-1-1) Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 7:30 p.m.
