A national sailing champion will be crowned in Oak Harbor this weekend as the Oak Harbor Yacht Club hosts the San Juan 24 North American Championship.
Racing begins Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m., weather permitting. About 20 boats, including eight from Whidbey Island, are expected to compete.
The races are most likely to be around Penn's Cove but could move to find better wind.
