Coupeville's Austin Fields finished 11th in the tri-district 1A golf tournament Tuesday, May 17, at Gold Mountain in Bremerton and qualified for the state meet.

Fields is the first student to represent Coupeville in a state golf tournament.  He played for South Whidbey during the regular season (and Oak Harbor last year) because Coupeville does not have a golf team.

Fields shot an 82 and was one of 32 players at tri-district to earn a spot in the state tournament at the Home Course in DuPont, south of Tacoma, May 24 and 25.
