Boys golf: Wildcats nab 5th at district, 3 individuals advance

Oak Harbor placed fifth in the 11-team district golf tournament at Bellingham's Lake Padden and three Wildcats advanced in the run for the individual title.
Glacier Peak captured the district crown with a 414, Mount Vernon shot 429, Everett 430, Shorewood 431, Oak Harbor 436, Sedro-Woolley 439, Ferndale 446, Lynnwood 454, Shorecrest 455, Mountlake Terrace 472 and Meadowdale 493.
Oak Harbor's Judd Ford and Greg Martin shot 79's to sit in a tie for seventh in the individual standings, just two strokes out of third. David Bunch carded an 89 to just slip under the cut. Quinton Wallace shot 94 and Caleb Knaack 95.
Ford, Martin and Bunch will continue Tuesday as the top 33 golfers from Monday contend for the individual title and one of the 13 spots in next week's state tournament at MeadowWood in Spokane.
