First-place Granite Falls put on an impressive offensive performance in sweeping the visiting Coupeville fastpitch team Tuesday, May 10.
The Tigers (15-2, 14-2) scored 32 runs on 31 hits in just four at-bats in each game to win 13-0 and 21-4.
While the Granite Falls bats were putting up big numbers, Tiger pitcher Kimmy Martinez also put on a show by no-hitting the Wolves in the first game.
Coupeville rebounded from the no-hitter to score two first-inning runs in the second contest, but Granite Falls took control with a 13-run second.
The Wolves swatted eight hits in second game, led by Breeanna Messner who went 3-for-3. Madeline Roberts had a double and two RBI, and Bessie Walstad tripled for two RBI and walked twice.
Coupeville (0-15, 0-13) closes out Cascade Conference play today, May 11, at South Whidbey (5-11) at 4 p.m., then travels to Meridian (6-13) Friday, May 13, for a district play-in game at 4.
