Tennis: Coupeville's Burchfield takes 2nd in district singles

Emily Burchfield defeated Coupeville teammate Lexi Blanchette 8-6 Tuesday, May 10, to earn second place in singles in the Northwest District 1 1A tennis tournament.
Burchfield advances to face an opponent from the Seattle area in a play-in match Monday, May 16, in Coupeville to earn a spot in the tri-district tournament.
Coupeville’s Jessica Riddle and Amanda d’Almeida qualified for tri-district by winning the district doubles title in Friday Harbor Monday, May 9.
