“Wild Thing” could have been the theme music for Oak Harbor’s 11-1 fastpitch loss to Shorewood Monday, May 9, at Hillcrest Elementary School.

Errors have been the usual downfall for the Wildcats this year, but Oak Harbor committed just one in the loss to the Thunderbirds. Starting pitcher Amanda Pavey walked seven and hit one in three-plus innings of work and Emily Saar added two more walks as Shorewood mixed in seven hits with the free passes to roll by the ‘Cats.

The T-birds led just 2-1 heading into the fourth, then scored nine runs over the next two innings for the fast finish.

Oak Harbor rapped just three hits, two from Shawna Steele; she was 2-for-3 with a triple and run. Abby Rankin earned the only other Oak Harbor hit.
