The Oak Harbor High School soccer team finished up the season with a 5-2 loss at Everett Wednesday, May 4.
Michael Shevchuk netted the Wildcats' first goal off an assist from Vance Freitas.
The second Oak Harbor goal came when a Caley Powers' cross was headed in by an Everett defender.
Coach Brian Thompson said, "We were scored on three times in the first half...we had some difficulty marking their forwards but settled down and sorted it out."
Thompson got a glimpse of the future when he played all seven of his varsity freshman the final 15 minutes; he said, "They did a great job."
He added, "Tucker Lundstrom and Stevie Bratt were in the goal and did a good job at the end of the game. I am very proud of the way our players have progressed this season. We are losing five seniors this year and will miss them next season."
Oak Harbor ended the year 2-14 overall and 2-12 in Wesco. Everett evened its records at 8-8 and 7-7.
