Records fall in NWAC pentathlon

North Whidbey Aquatic Club rewrote much of its record book as hosted five teams in the third annual Triple Pentathlon April 29 to May 1 at John Vanderzicht Memorial Pool.

Individual records were set by Lucas Tack, Ethan Tack, Olivia Tungate, Marissa Morris, Molly Vogt, Laura Rosen and Ciara Hu.

New team relay records were set by nine squads: boys 8 and under, Lucas Tack, Lawrence Zapanta, Nicholas Davis, Andrew Vogt; girls 8 and under, Ashleigh Merrill, Addison Carver, Kiana Malveaux, Caitlyn Denned; boys 9-10, Ethan Tack, Jerrin Concepcion, Brannigan Vogt, Josh Byers, Carl Davis; girls 9-10, Christy Thompson, Olivia Tungate, Mackenzi LaRue, Ashley Vogt; girls 11-12, Marissa Morris, Molly Vagt, Taliah Black, Ella Schroeder; boys 13-14, Harrison Tack, Michael Johnson, Jeron Kosbar, Cedric Cabigting; girls 13-14, Emily Huffer, Irysh Concepcion, Lauren Vagt, Michelle Robinson, Emily Schroeder; boys 15 and over, Jacob Jepsen, Josh Jepsen, Price Hu, Michael McGinnis, Cole Weinstein; and girls 15 and over, Laura Rosen, Karina Concepcion, Akasha Trisler, Ciara Hu.

NWAC Swimmer of the Meet, Kelly Huffer: 12-for-12 individual PRs, 5-for-5 relay PR’s, dropped three seconds per 50 with four relay lead-off legs, second place overall triple pentathlon winner, and new PNS cuts in 50 and 100 breaststroke and 50 freestyle (now has PNS cut in every event).
