Tennis: Oak Harbor drops 6-1 match to T-birds

After two rainouts in April, Oak Harbor and Shorewood finally fit in a tennis match between the raindrops and the Thunderbirds won 6-1 at Shoreview Park in Shoreline Wednesday, May 4.
Oak Harbor's point came from second singles player Belen Cifuentes who rebounded for a 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 win.
Cady O'Dell dropped the first singles match 0-6, 2-6.
In third and fourth singles, Clarissa Abadesco (3-6, 6-1, 6-7[3]) and Jordan Faralan (0-6, 6-2, 5-7) both fell in close matches.
Shoko Yamaguchi and Jennifer Bowers lost in three sets in second doubles (7-5, 2-6, 3-6). Alexa Holmly and Shannon Neilon were defeated in first doubles (6-7[8], 2-6) and Jennifer Fremd and Molly Van Dam in third doubles (2-6, 3-6).
The Wildcats (7-6, 6-5) and Shorewood (11-3, 11-1) meet again Thursday, May 5, at 3:30 in Oak Harbor.
