Glacier Peak bunched four of its five hits in one inning to slip by the Oak Harbor fastpitch team 3-0 Tuesday, April 26, at Hillcrest Elementary School.
Oak Harbor pitcher Emily Saar dominated the Grizzlies for six of the seven innings, but Glacier Peak (6-8, 4-5) rapped four consecutive hits in the fourth inning to collect all of its runs. Saar finished with eight strike outs and two walks.
The Wildcats had as many hits as Glacier Peak but they were spread throughout the contest. Morgan Young ripped two singles; and Amanda Pavey, Bailey Martinez and Shawna Steele each singled.
Oak Harbor coach Jess Weikle said, "Now that we are playing good 'D' our hitting is a little off."
The Wildcats (1-13, 1-8) go to Lynnwood (8-7, 5-5) Thursday, April 28, and then host Meadowdale (11-2, 7-2) Monday, May 2, at 4 p.m.
