The Oak Harbor Boys and Girls Club
has been selected as one of 10 stops for the Seattle Storm Trophy Tour.
When the tour comes to town
Wednesday, April 27, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., participants will get to see the
WNBA championship trophy the Storm won last year, hone their basketball skills
and qualify for a ticket to the Storm opening day game on June 4.
Participants can take part in a
“dribble, pass and shoot” skills competition and a mini Junior Storm clinic
that teaches the fundamentals of basketball.
Individual winners of the skills
contest will be invited to the Storm’s Opening Day Celebration of Champions,
where they will compete against winners from other clubs for the opportunity to
take home both an Xbox 360 and an Xbox Kinect.
Parents can pre-register their kids
for the skills competition by visiting the official Trophy Tour page at
StormBasketball.com.
Additional activities during the
Tour stop include pictures with the Storm’s 2010 WNBA championship trophy and
more Storm-themed games, prizes and giveaways.
