Miller bowls perfect game on way to title

Jacob Miller, an Oak Harbor High School senior, bowled a 300
game at Oak Bowl Sunday, April 17, en route to tying for first in his division
in the monthly event of the Northwest Tour for youth bowlers.
Miller wasn’t the only Oak Harbor bowler to shine in the
tournament. Brendan McCardle took the Division A division, Mike Kincy won the
Satellite Division and Devin McCardle finished second in Division B.
Miller averaged 232 over 11 games to tie for the Division AA
title on his home lanes in the April tournament of the Tour.  The Northwest Tour, run by the United States
Bowling Congress, is a series of monthly tournaments at different sites in
Northwest Washington from November to May.
The top three finishers in each tournament have money put
into their “bank account” for a scholarship to the college of the bowler’s
choice.  Miller has bowled in Northwest
Tour events for six years and his account is now up to $500.
Miller helped lead the Oak Harbor High School team to the
state championship in February, earned a spot on the all-state team and was
named the state tournament MVP.
