Tennis: Everett stays in 1st with win over Wildcats

Everett remained in first place in Wesco 3A tennis by winning 6-1 at Oak Harbor Monday, April 18.

The Wildcats' lone win came in third singles from Clarissa Abadesco (6-2, 6-0).

Oak Harbor's Cady O'Dell won the first set in No. 1 singles 6-4, but dropped the next two, 2-6, 0-6.

In No. 2 singles, Belen Cifuentes lost twice by 2-6 scores, and Jordan Faralan lost in fourth singles 2-6, 4-6.

Oak Harbor fell in straight sets in all three doubles matches: Alexa Holmly/Shannon Neilon 1-6, 4-6; Jennifer Bowers/Shoko Yamaguchi 2-6, 2-6; and Jennifer Fremd/Molly Van Dam 1-6, 1-6.

The Wildcats (5-5, 4-4) journey to Lynnwood (1-8, 1-6) Wednesday, April 20, at 3:30 p.m. and don't return home until Monday, May 2, with Glacier Peak (2-5, 2-3) at 3:30.
