Track: King's defeats Coupeville

King's topped the Coupeville track teams at a cold and windy Mickey Clark Field Thursday, April 14.

The Knights won the boys meet 83-43 and the girls meet 83-53.

The Coupeville boys received a double win from Mitch Pelroy (100, 12.15; 200, 24.24) and firsts from Sam Landau (1,600, 5:47), Tyler King (3,200, 9:32.79) and Hunter Hammer (shot put, 45-07).

Kyra Ilyankoff (javelin, 88-05; shot put, 30-09) and Sarah Oaks (1,600, 6:62; 3,200, 17.56) won twice for the Coupeville girls. Jai'Lysa Hoskins took the 200 (29.24), Madison Tisa-McPhee won the 100 hurdles (18.19) and Coupeville won the 4x200 (2:02.47) and 4x400 (4:39.22) relays. (Names of the individual relay runners were not submitted.)

Coupeville, King's and Granite Falls go to Archbishop Thomas Murphy Thursday, April 21, at 4 p.m.

Other top-three results from Thursday's meet:

Second (boys) Dylan Ritchie, 110 hurdles, 23.3; Larry Hurlburt, 1,600, 5:49; Stephen Edwards, 800, 2:34.3; Aaron Nell, long jump, 13.73; Hammer, discus, 138-04.

Second (girls): Hoskins, 100, 13.83; Grace LaPoint, 400, 1:05.68; javelin, 87-04; Sarah Goodman, 1,600, 7:42; Tisa-McPhee, 300 hurdles, 52.98; 4x200 relay.

Third (boys): Landau, 3,200, 12:26.32; Jack McCormick, 1,600, no time given; 4x100 relay.

Third (girls): None.
