Tennis: Oak Harbor sweeps singles, takes match

Behind another strong effort from its singles players, the Oak Harbor tennis team nipped Mountlake Terrace 4-3 on the Wildcats' courts Thursday, April 14.
The 'Cats dominated all four singles matches but dropped three closely contested doubles matches to the Hawks (0-9, 0-7).
Cady O'Dell and Belen Cifuentes won the top-two singles matches by identical 6-1, 6-0 scores; Clarissa Abadesco took No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-0; and Alexa Holmly completed the sweep 6-0, 6-1.
In doubles play, the Wildcats fell in all three matches: Shannon Neilon/Jordan Faralan 4-6, 3-6; Shoko Yamaguchi/Cassandra Gianino 7-5, 2-6, 3-6; and Jennifer Fremd/Molly Van Dam 4-6, 5-7.
Oak Harbor (5-4, 4-3) takes on first-place Everett (7-1, 6-0) at home Monday, April 18, at 3:30 p.m.
