After a slow start the Coupeville High School soccer team finished in a flurry in its 4-0 win at Granite Falls Tuesday, April 5.
The Wolves managed just one goal in the first half against the winless Tigers (0-6-1, 0-5) as Grayson Knott scored in the 15th minute.
Midway through the second half, the Coupeville offense finally took off as Ben Hayes tallied in the 57th minute.
Nathan Lamb, with an assist from Andre Stone, hit the net in the 71st minute, and David Hefflinger slipped in a score in the 78th minute.
Coupeville coach Paul Mendes said, "It was a slow start for us. Our offense didn't start clicking until Ben's goal."
Mendes said keeper Isaac Wacker "made some fine saves and kept us in the game when the score was close."
Wacker registered his third straight shutout.
Coupeville (3-2-1, 3-2) entertains Sultan (3-2) Friday, April 8, at 6 p.m.
