Shorewood received goals from seven different players in its 8-0 defeat of the visiting Oak Harbor soccer team Monday, April 4, at Shoreline Stadium.

The loss left Oak Harbor with a 1-5 Wesco 3A record and 1-7 overall. Shorewood, the state's eighth-ranked team, upped its marks to 5-1 and 6-2.

Wildcat coach Brian Thompson said, "Our defensive game still needs work with this young team.   "We had several good attempts at scoring but did not finish.  The boys are handling the losses well and are optimistic that we are moving forward and will be a better team by the end of the season."

The Wildcats face Everett (3-5, 2-4) Wednesday, April 6, at 7:30 p.m. at Wildcat Memorial Stadium.

Next week Oak Harbor takes on the state's top-two teams. The 'Cats go to No. 2 Shorecrest Tuesday, April 12, at 7 p.m. and then host defending state champion and No. 1 Glacier Peak Saturday, April 16, at 1.
