Granite Falls blanked the Coupeville tennis team 5-0 Thursday, March 24, on the Wolves' courts.
CHS coach Ken Stange said, "There were some bright spots, but the matches were not pretty."
Emily Burchfield fell in No. 1 singles 4-6, 6-3, 1-6; and Lexi Blanchette dropped the No. 2 singles match 3-6, 5-7.
In doubles action, Jessica Riddle and Amanda d'Almeida lost 2-6, 2-6; Brooke Monroe and Haley Marx lost 3-6, 3-6; and Grayson Akins and Jamie Price lost 2-6, 2-6.
Stange said, "Although our match as a whole resulted in a 5-0 loss, the bright side is that we now see what needs to be done if we are to be competitive with Granite Falls in the future."
Coupeville (1-1) hosts Friday Harbor Monday, March 28, at 3 p.m. in the first of their three-match series to determine the league champion.
