Tennis: Everett defeats Oak Harbor

The Everett tennis team shut out Oak Harbor 7-0 Friday, March 18, at Clark Park.
The Wildcats forced the Seagulls (2-0) to three sets in just two of the matches.
In fourth singles, Alexa Holmly won the first set 6-4 before dropping the next two 3-6, 2-6. In second doubles, Jordan Faralan and Cassandra Gianino grabbed the first set 6-2 and then lost the final two 4-6, 4-6.
In the first three singles matches, Cady O’Dell lost 6-7(3), 2-6; Belen Cifuentes lost 1-6, 0-6; and Shannon Neilon lost 0-6, 1-6.
Jennifer Bowers and Shoko Yamaguchi fell in first doubles 0-6 and 2-6, and Molly Van Dam and Kelli Travenetti were blanked 0-6, 0-6 in third doubles.
Oak Harbor (1-2, 1-1) hosts Lynnwood (0-1) Monday, March 21, at 3:30 p.m.
