Wrestling: Oak Harbor almost perfect in win over Hawks

The Oak Harbor High School wrestling team almost recorded a perfect score in a 78-5 win over visiting Mountlake Terrace Wednesday, Jan. 19.
The Wildcats earned 10 pins and three forfeits as it won 13 of the 14 matches over the Hawks (0-5, 0-9).
Oak Harbor (4-1, 10-5) goes to Meadowdale (2-2, 2-5) Friday, Jan. 21, at 7 p.m.
Winners by a fall for Oak Harbor were Jennifer Fremd (140 pounds, :43), David Payne (145, 3:23), Josh Crebbin (152, 5:23), Brandon Stratton (160, 1:48), Jeremy Alonzo (189, :34), Hunter Vail (215, 2:45), Corey Trimbur (103, 3:42), Jahleel Vester (112, 1:33), Cody Fakkema (119, 3:46) and Ben Pralle (125, 3:06).
Fremd's win over Mountlake Terrace's Kami Roberts, according to current coach Mike Crebbin and former coach Brian Farmer, is believed to be the first varsity win by a Wildcat female wrestler.
Raymond Quinday (285), Ryuta Meany (130) and Nathaniel Stanford (135) received forfeits.
The Hawks' Taylor Call (171) defeated Steven Souza 17-1.
