Oak Harbor junior Josiah Miller earned two selections to the All-Area first-team football team announced by the Everett Herald this week.

Coupeville's Ian Smith and Mitch Pelroy earned second-team honors.

Miller was one of just four underclassmen selected to the 28-man (14 offense, 14 defense) first-team squads.

He was tabbed as a first-team defensive back and first-team kick returner. During the season he intercepted six passes (returning one for a touchdown), forced two fumbles and returned five punts for touchdowns.

Smith, a senior, received second-team defensive back honors and led Coupeville with four interceptions.

Pelroy, a junior, returned three kickoffs for scores this fall.
