The Coupeville High School competitive cheer squad picked up two first-place ribbons at Decatur High School in Federal Way Saturday, Dec. 4.

For the second time this season, the Wolves won the non-tumbling division. Early this season they won the event at Peninsula High School.

Senior Kristin Sim earned the other first at Decatur by capturing the individual competition.

Coupeville fields three cheer squads during the school year: competition, football and basketball. Assistant coach Jennifer Cloudy said some girls take part in all three while others compete on other Coupeville athletic teams. For example, this season three of the competitive cheer members are also on the girls basketball team.

The Wolves have qualified for the state championship cheer tournament in Everett Jan. 22.
