Sophomore John Hu of the Stevens Institute of Technology (Hoboken, N.J.) men’s swimming team was named the CollegeSwimming.com Division III National Swimmer of the Week Oct. 27.

Hu, a graduate of Oak Harbor High School, recorded a pair of NCAA B-cuts as well as two first-place finishes in the NYU Fall Invitational in Octoboer.

Hu’s B-cuts and victories came in the 400-yard individual medley and 200-yard butterfly, turning in times of 4:01.50 and 1:53.41, respectively. He also took the top spot in the 200-yard IM with a 1:57.27, while placing second in the 200-yard backstroke (1:58.27).

In addition to the individual wins, Hu was a member of the 400-yard freestyle and medley relay teams that took first place.

Hu's Stevens teammate, Evan Wilson, also an Oak Harbor graduate, won the Swimmer of the Week award earlier this season.
