Youth wrestling: WWWC starts season with pair of wins

The Whidbey Wildcat Wrestling Club hosted and won two tournaments this weekend in a promising start to the 2010-11 season.

WWWC earned 16 points to win the Salute to Veterans Tournament Saturday, Nov. 6, over 17 other teams, then picked up 11 points Sunday to capture the Kickoff Novice event.

Over 200 wrestlers ages 5 to 18 competed in the tournaments.

Following are the top WWWC finishers in the Salute to Veterans tournament:

PeeWee 38-38: 1, Emerson Gray.

PeeWee 80-80: 1, Jacob Marks.

Bantam 45-50: 2, Ben Servatius.

Bantam 75-76: 1, Bryson Lamb.

Bantam 75+: 1, Joshua Marks.

Intermediate 50-55: 1, Blake Servatius; 3, William Roy.

Intermediate 70: 4, Cameron Aguirre.

Intermediate 75-79: 4, Levi Craig.

Novice 70-75: 1, Aaron Fletcher.

Novice 90-95: 4, Skylar Altman; 5, Kaleb Crogan.
