A sloppy first half led to a 7-0 loss for the Oak Harbor girls soccer team in a home match with Shorewood Monday, Oct. 25.

Coach Jeff Laiblin said, "We played a first half full of mistakes on both ends."

Laiblin used the second half to look at several different lineups with an eye on next year, and he also gave some seniors the opportunity to play positions of their choice in their final home match.

The emotions of Senior Night may have attributed to the Wildcats' slow start against the Thunderbirds (9-3, 9-5), Laiblin said.

Oak Harbor did score one goal, but it was called back.

Oak Harbor (1-12, 2-13) closes out the season Wednesday at Everett (9-4, 10-4-1) at 7 p.m.
