OHBC holds select team basketball tryouts

The Oak Harbor Basketball Club will hold tryouts for its fifth- through eighth-grade boys select teams Nov. 8 and 9 at Oak Harbor Middle School.

Tryouts for fifth and sixth graders is Monday, Nov. 8, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Seventh and eighth graders will tryout Tuesday, Nov. 9, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The OHBC is looking for boys interested in playing competitive and not recreational basketball.

The teams will compete in the SWISH league on Saturdays beginning Jan. 8; games will be played in Mount Vernon, La Conner and Sedro-Woolley. The teams will also compete in two tournaments.

Practices begin Nov. 15 and the season concludes March 27.

All athletes are required to tryout and must be registered to participate in tryouts. The cost per athlete is $150 and will be due by the first practice.
