Tennis: Wesco 3A divisional tournament begins today

The Wesco 3A divisional tennis tournament runs today, Oct. 19, through Friday, Oct. 22, at Jackson High School and Heatherwood Middle School in Mill Creek.
In singles, Oak Harbor's Ben Cardinal (No. 7 seed) opens with Isaac Brengelmann (10) of Shorewood, while the Wildcats' David DeGuzman (16) takes on top-seeded Alex Casper of Meadowdale.
In doubles, the local duo of Josh Evans and Brandon Vagt (8) faces Mark Iringan and Alex Seale (9) of Everett, and the Oak Harbor team of Max O'Dell and Will Southard (15) matches up with Dylan Mozlowksi and Jake Davis (2) of Glacier Peak.
The first round of the tournament is single elimination with the remainder of the tournament modified double elimination.
The top six singles players and doubles teams will advance to next week's district tournament in Mount Vernon.
Today's play begins at 1 p.m.; play Wednesday through Friday begins at 3 p.m.
