Tennis: Jackson beats Oak Harbor to finish undefeated

Jackson finished the regular season undefeated by blanking visiting Oak Harbor 7-0 in a nonleague match Wednesday, Oct. 13.

Jackson (16-0), the Wesco 4A South champion, dropped Oak Harbor's records to 4-9 and 4-11.

The Wildcats complete league and regular season play Thursday, Oct. 14, at 3:45 when Glacier Peak (11-3, 13-3) comes to Oak Harbor.

Jackson dominated in its win over Oak Harbor as the Wildcats failed to win a set in four of the matches.

In singles, Ben Cardinal (6-0, 6-0), Josh Evans (7-5, 6-2), Brandon Vagt (6-4, 6-4) and David DeGuzman (6-0, 6-0) lost.

In doubles, Will Southard/Max O'Dell (6-0, 6-0), Eric Berner/Geoff Worley (6-0, 6-0) and Ben Harrison/Michael Serna (6-1, 6-1) fell.

The 3A district tennis tournament runs Oct. 26 to 28 at Mount Vernon.
