Lynnwood stole a 2-1 win from the visiting Oak Harbor girls soccer team Tuesday, Oct. 12.
Wildcat coach Jeff Laiblin said, "We played great last night and had one stolen from us...We completely outplayed them, but to their credit they played a bunker defense to perfection."
The win was the Royals' first in Wesco 3A, and they are now tied with Oak Harbor (1-9, 2-10). Oak Harbor defeated Lynnwood 3-0 earlier this fall.
The Wildcats host Meadowdale (6-5, 8-5) Thursday, Oct. 14, at 7:30 p.m.
Lynnwood put 11 back on defense when they didn't have the ball, according to Laiblin, and received an "excellent" game from their goal keeper.
Laiblin added, "We, on the other hand, actually played better this time against them."
Oak Harbor's score was the "best goal of the year," according to Laiblin: "Millie Goebel put a beautiful pass through and Morgan Murphy had a wonderful finish."
