Although it played well, the Coupeville High School volleyball team fell 3-0 at powerful Archbishop Murphy Tuesday, Oct. 5.
The Wildcats (7-1) won 25-22, 25-21, 25-15.
The Wolves gave ATM all it could handle in the first two games. Coach Toni Crebbin said, "I was pleased with how consistent we played in games one and two."
She added, "I switched some defensive positions at practice Monday, and we went with that for the match. It seemed to work well, so I expect our defense to keep improving as we get more used to our new roles."
Jessica Riddle, with five kills and three aces, and Laura Chan, with 14 assists, led the Coupeville attack.
Another bright spot, according to Crebbin, was the Wolves serving, hitting a season high 95 percent.
Coupeville continues on the road this week with a match at Cedarcrest at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7.
