Second place Shorecrest shut out the visiting Oak Harbor girls soccer team 3-0 Tuesday, Oct. 5.

With the win the Scots (6-2, 6-4) remain in the Wesco 3A title hunt while Oak Harbor (1-7, 2-8) clings to the last playoff spot in sixth place.

Oak Harbor coach Jeff Laiblin said, “Played a better road game, but didn’t do what we need to do to win. When you play the team tied for second, you have to have better touch and movement then we did last night.”

The Scots scored two first half goals just minutes apart then tallied the third when the Wildcats were pushing at the end of the game.

Laiblin added, “We tried some new things and formations last night. Some worked and some didn’t.”

Oak Harbor takes on unbeaten Glacier Peak (7-0, 8-0-1) Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Wildcat Memorial Stadium.
