Tennis: Wolves win at Lake Stevens

The Coupeville boys tennis team won 3-2 at Lake Stevens, Monday, Oct. 4.
The Lake Stevens team was comprised of members of the Lake Stevens High School and Cavelero Mid High (Lake Stevens freshmen) teams.
The match format included one singles contest and four doubles matches. The doubles teams played just one pro set each.
Coupeville's Ben Hayes squeaked out a 7-6(7-5), 7-6(11-9) win in the singles bout.
In first and second doubles, Nate Lamb/Nic Anthony (8-5) and Larry Hurlburt/Chase Bates (8-2) came up winners for the Wolves.
Jason Knoll/Brandon Kelly (8-2) and Konrad Borden/Esteban Hernandez (8-0) fell in third and fourth doubles.
The Wolves battle the Oak Harbor junior varsity today, Oct. 5, and South Whidbey tomorrow in a pair of 3 p.m. away matches.
