The Oak Harbor High School boys tennis team christened its new courts with a 7-0 win over Mountlake Terrace Wednesday, Sept. 29.
The win also broke a seven-match losing streak for the Wildcats who opened the season with eight straight road matches as they waited for the completion of the new courts.
Oak Harbor didn't lose a set in the romp over the Hawks (0-8, 0-9).
Ben Cardinal (7-6(4), 6-2), Josh Evans (6-2, 6-3), Brandon Vagt (6-0, 6-0) and David DeGuzman (6-0, 6-0) swept through the singles matches.
It was more of the same in doubles as Max O'Dell/Geoff Worley (6-2, 6-4), Will Southard/Michael Serna (6-2, 6-0) and Ben Harrison/Maric Sobreo (6-2, 6-1) won.
Marvyn Sionson (8-0) and Harrison Miller (8-4) won exhibition matches.
Oak Harbor (2-6, 2-7) hosts Shorecrest (3-7, 4-8) Thursday, Sept. 30, at 3:45 p.m.
