Nationally known fly fishing expert to speak in Coupeville

Skip Morris, a nationally known fly fishing instructor and speaker, will conduct an all day clinic, sponsored by the Whidbey Island Fly Fishing Club, Saturday, Oct. 23, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Coupeville High School.

Morris, the principal speaker at the recent Federation of Fly Fishers convention, is the author of a dozen books, innumerable articles and several instructional videos on fly fishing. He will discuss all phases of fly fishing at the Coupeville clinic.

Cost for the clinic is $30 advance purchase and $35 at the door; lunch is included. Seating is limited.

The morning presentations will include “Fishing The Surface of Trout Lakes,” “Fishing the Depths of Trout Lakes” and fly tying demonstrations of lake flies.

Lunch of grilled burgers and bratwurst with sides and beverages will be provided.

The afternoon presentations will be “Big Flies For Trout” and "Cutthroat and Salmon in Salt Water," followed by fly tying demonstrations of salt-water flies.

Information about fishing local waters will be available during breaks and lunch from members of the Whidbey Island Fly Fishing Club.
