Tennis: Shorewood shuts out Wildcats

The Shorewood boys tennis team blitzed visiting Oak Harbor 7-0 Monday, Sept. 13.

The Wildcats failed to win a set as the Thunderbirds swept the match.

In singles, Ben Cardinal fell 6-2, 6-3; Josh Evans lost 6-4, 7-5; Brandon Vagt was topped 7-6(4), 6-1; and David DeGuzman was beaten 6-2, 6-4.

The Oak Harbor doubles teams of Max O'Dell/Geoff Worley (6-4, 6-4), Eric Berner/Michael Serna (6-3, 6-1) and Ben Harrison/Will Southard (6-2, 6-0) all lost.

The T-birds are now 3-1 for the year, Oak Harbor 1-2.

The Wildcats go to Everett (1-0) Wednesday, Sept. 15, and Lynnwood (0-3) Thursday, Sept. 16, for a pair of 3:45 p.m. matches.
