Swim: Wildcats lose but record 3 state-qualifying times

Oak Harbor produced three state qualifying times but fell to Anacortes 94-81 in the season-opening swim meet in the Seahawks' pool Thursday, Sept. 9.
Ciara Hu posted a 1:01.84 in the 100 butterfly and Akasha Trisler a 1:12.21 in the 100 breaststroke to earn trips to the state meet.
The pair combined with Karina Concepcion and Tori Nickerson in the 200 medley relay to clock a state time of 1:58.32.
The same quartet also won the 400 free relay (4:14.17).
Concepcion picked up individual wins in the 50 free (26.72) and 100 backstroke (1:05.2); Trisler won the 200 IM (2:25.02) and Hu took the 500 free (5:40.12).
Coupeville's Rachel Weinstein, who trains with Oak Harbor, met district qualifying times in the 200 freestyle (2:18.77) and 50 free (28.84).
The Wildcats host Jackson in the home opener Wednesday, Sept. 15, at 6 p.m.
