Huffer clocks fastest time in Junior Sprint Triathlon

Emily Huffer posted the best time in the Junior Sprint Triathlon presented by the North Whidbey Parks and Recreation District Sunday, Aug. 15, at John Vanderzicht Memorial Pool.
Huffer, 13, completed the course, which including swimming 147 yards, biking 2,000 yards and running 600 yards, in 8 minutes.
Other female age-group winners included Jenny Danielson, 8, 15:57; Kelly Huffer, 10, 9:48; Molly Vagt, 11, 9:15; and Brooklen Ferrell, 14, 12:57.
Boys who won their age groups included Noah Hunter, 6, 15:28; Micah Thompson, 7, 15:44; Jacob Unrich, 8, 17:17; Caleb Hunter, 9, 14:26; Jacob Thompson, 10, 12:28; Caleb Thompson, 11, 12:08; and Eric Jensen, 12, 10:32.
Competitors who earned second-place finishes included Jacob Hernandez, Jaime Hernandez, Lance Burley, Ryan Evans, Taliah Black and Lauren Vagt.
