Given the recent nasty and uncalled for attacks in our local liberal/communist media on our gallant U.S. Navy, I just had to comment. As a retired Navy chief I’ve seen my share of anti-American crap in Whidbey newspapers, but the latest attacks on “the sound of freedom” take the cake.

My wife and I had a recent opportunity to attend Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Whidbey Playhouse.
The play is directed by Stephen James Anderson and produced by Allenda Jenkins, and I can’t say enough about the event.

Pastor Lawler should feel perfectly free to pray privately or in his church to whatever imaginary deity he adores.

The decision to sue City of Oak Harbor is not Cladoosby’s alone

Regarding the letter by Rollanda Sitko in the Whidbey News-Times on May 1 entitled “Can’t afford to support tribal casino suing city,” the City of Oak Harbor was warned by archaeologists that there is a burial ground in the area of Pioneer Way.
You can’t expect the tribe to know where all their ancestors are buried.
