A frustrating septic experience

I just finished complying with Island County’s new septic regulations. I was charged $150 to inspect my single compartment, gravity fed system and $451 to have it pumped (was not in real need of having to be pumped). Another $62 to the county and I’m in this for $663.

I did take the septic training course and could have inspected it myself but wanted to see what the damage would be had I not taken the course. This is quite a chunk of change to have to spend every three years. Thanks Whidbey News-Times for giving me the opportunity to vent my frustration.
