We’ll miss all the fundraisers

Talk about pyrrhic victory! While Paula Spina’s neighbors enjoy the quiet ambience of their gardens, will any consider the cost of their recent actions?

Will any remember the memorable fundraiser auctions and dinners that benefited the boys and girls of the community?

Did any attend the entertaining concerts presented by Concerts in the Cove?

Looking back, I remember seeing some of those same neighbors at the gala plein air art reception and sale these past two years. As I recall, they were the sponsors!

Ms. Spina was correct in reminding us that no good deed goes unpunished. But isn’t it a shame that so many must suffer for the convenience of the few? If Spina decides to appeal the decision, perhaps it is still not too late for the public to throw in their support for the good of the community.

In the meantime, thank you, Paula, for your continued contribution to the community. Perhaps some people just have a funny way of showing their appreciation.
