On Saturday, May 8, the postal employees and community volunteers collected food items as part of the nationwide, “Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.”

In the North Whidbey/Oak Harbor area over 5,700 pounds of food and $700 in monetary donations were collected and donated to the North Whidbey Help House. Donations collected Island-wide were over 11,000 pounds.

We would like to extend a special thank you to our wonderful community, for giving so generously and to all the wonderful volunteers, the Help House, Post Office employees and their family members who joined together Saturday to help their community.

You made this food drive very successful. The Whidbey Island community pantries and food banks will have the extra resources to continue to provide for those in need.

Thank you.
