Don’t break with tradition
April 30, 2010 · Updated 2:34 PM
Keep it Happening! A 41-year tradition can’t just be thrown to the wind but we do need to stay focused on tradition. Why else celebrate?
Am I the only one who wonders why the selected Grand Marshal for the Holland Happening Parade was from Seattle? Just because he hadn’t missed Holland Happening since 1986? Surely there are many local citizens who have made important contributions to our town that we could have bestowed that honor upon?
Perhaps more thought should go into the selection next year. The parade, street fair and entertainment did make for an enjoyable weekend.
