Unite against alien invasion

The Whidbey News-Times letters section has become boring. I’m tired of reading about one-way streets, property taxes, seedy city councilmen and global warming. Quite frankly, people need to wake up to the real threat posed against all peoples, cultures and societies: Alien invasion.

I propose that we spend our tax dollars, resources and energies preparing for these evil little green entities (and no doubt of the female variety, since at first they will trick us into thinking they are good) that are on the verge of entering from their parallel universe into ours. When you are driving down that one way street, headed to some council meeting about property taxes and global warming, how will that save you from their celestial laser guns? It won’t!

However, if we as a people could unite on this important issue, then one-way streets, property taxes and global warming would be mere side issues, not to be tempered against the strength of the human spirit in her quest for release from boredom and politics. It’s the only way, folks.
