Throw precaution to the wind

To add to Mr. Moreland’s letter of March 6, the planet was cooling from 1940 to 1975 and in the first Earth Day (April 1970) the major subject was the coming ice age. The planet has been cooling slightly ever since 1998 according to climatologists.

The United Nations “International Panel on Climate Change,” which clearly has a political agenda rather than a scientific one, is even changing its forecasts, coming closer to those who do not consider that climate change is due to human activity. We should not follow the “precautionary principal” in this matter as some urge stating that we should reduce carbon emissions “just in case.” This will have a disastrous effect on our already fragile economy.

We will bitterly regret introducing “cap and trade” legislation.
