I want to thank the Whidbey News-Times for its Nov. 14 “Don’t gut all county services” editorial. As it stated, certain programs by organizations deemed non-essential by the state do in fact “make Island County a better place to live.”

I’d also like to point out to your readers that due to space limitations, the Whidbey News-Times could only run about a third of my Sound Off Saturday.

To read it in its entirety, please visit www.idipic.org. That way readers are able to have all the facts “from one of the ‘non-essential function’ folks.”
