What to do with catalogs

For the longest time I have been writing on unsolicited catalogs “ Return to sender.” I talked to my mailman about it. He told me that the catalogs are trashed, not returned to the company who sent them.

Wow! What a smart move by the post office. Millions of unwanted catalogs go to our landfills every day because it’s not cost effective to return them to the company who sent them. The U.S. Postal Service concluded the 2008 fiscal year with a net loss of $2.8 billion.

I received 14 catalogs this Monday and Tuesday. Well, now I am trying Catalog Choice (www.catalogchoice.org/dashboard) an organization that works to eliminate unwanted catalogs.

Time will tell.
