Oak Harbor houses its animals

The recent articles in your newspaper pertaining to the vacating of two mobile home parks in favor of other land uses resulting in the displacement of folks of limited means of support, begets the following question the community of Oak Harbor should be asking itself.

Why as a civilized community we can make an extra effort to find homes for homeless animals while we cannot or will not make that extra effort for fellow homeless human beings, who by city governmental action were made homeless in the first place?
