You'll regret single-payer

Wednesday's paper has a letter from Peggy Burton saying "We the people want single-payer" for health care. She is not talking for me. I wonder if Obama's health care reform would end up similar to that which they have in Canada. I wonder if Peggy has personal knowledge of just what it is like to have their kind of health care.

My best friend of over 65 years lives in Canada, just across the border from the farm where I grew up. We talk often, usually weekly, so I hear about her experiences in their health care system. The possibility that we could end up with that type of system scares me to death. Peggy, be careful what you wish for, you may get it and I can assure you you will regret it if it turns out to be like the Canadian system. So like your last sentence says: Think about it.
