Letters to the Editor

No quick fixes for what Bush did

It looks as if a naysayer arrived on the local political scene coincidentally with the presidential inauguration.

Richard Ays (Letters, March 21) began his negative comments about President Obama with a letter on this page on Jan. 22, continued in the Seattle Times in February, and was back to grace the News-Times with his banal baloney last Saturday.

Obama’s predecessor required only a couple of years to turn a $5 trillion budget surplus into red ink with his one-note theme that tax relief for the rich will fix everything. It will take awhile to make a dent in Bush’s mess, so back off, Mr. Ays. If all you can do is parrot those other loudmouths, Rush Limbaugh and Bill O’Reilly, you aren’t helping.
